03 MY JOURNEY
2007-2017
MY SCIENTIFIC & ENGINEERING CAREER
Research Scientist/Engineer
I have been a Research Chemist/Engineer for close to 10 years. I love conducting research & understanding the world around me. Research fulfills my deep curiosity.
2017-2018
FRONT-END WEB DEVELOPMENT
Grow With Google Scholarship Recipient
I was chosen among 15,000 people world-wide to received the Grow with Google Challenge scholarship, which teaches HTML, CSS, JavaScript, & jQuery. Based on the progress & performance in the course & projects, they chose 1,500 people from the original 15,000 to receive the Grow with Google Front-End Web Developer Nanodegree Scholarship. I was chosen to be one of those lucky 1,500 people. The courses and curriculum are from Udacity. Shout out to Google and Udacity for this amazing opportunity! I learned a ton about front-end technologies along with tons of design methodologies for responsive design, accessibility design, and along with a ton of other design principles.
2018-2019
ROCKET COMMUNICATIONS
Sr. Design Researcher

After Kessel Run, I found an amazing opportunity to work for a design agency. Working at Rocket, affirmed that I had an amazing ability to learn quickly and the ability to survive in a design-forward consulting agency. I was able to work on impactful space applications for the Air Force, while consulting with some of the leading government contracting companies. I contributed to and helped maintain a design system, was a lead designer on some interesting projects, and was able to gain a lot of exposure to lots of different projects. I had tremendous growth as a designer during my tenure at Rocket. (Shout out to Jeff, Ty, and Duncan! I miss you guys!)
MY ENTIRE LIFE
VISUAL ARTS
A Natural Creative Mind
I have always been enamored with the visual arts. As a kid, I always had a paintbrush in hand & I had an obsession with creating my newest masterpiece. I loved to MacGyver unique tools and solutions from any resource I could get my hands on. As a child, I would always find ways to feed my creative soul through creating and creative problem-solving.
2006-2018
FREELANCE GRAPHIC & WEB DESIGN
Freelance Designer
I have been freelancing since my undergraduate days for random graphic design and web design projects.
2018
KESSEL RUN
UI/UX Designer
My ambition, budding talents, and eagerness to learn drew the attention of the right people at the right time & I was offered an opportunity to become a UI/UX Designer for an Air Force Initiative called Kessel Run. Kessel Run invested in helping me learn design methodologies by placing me on a few different teams, one of which was fairly new and starting out at Pivotal. Pivotal is an agile methodology consulting firm that trains teams about product management, UX/UI product design, and developer skills. Teams typically have a 6-month engagement in their beginning stages. During these 6-months, Pivotal employees are embedded into the team as they teach good practices of the business while instilling agile methodologies. I have learned a ton about user-centered design, user-interviews/research, solution validation, brain-storming techniques, design crits, wire-framing, and many more valuable skills.

The project teams that I was a part of received many accolades & achieved great successes. Take a look at the articles that featured these projects in the article section of my portfolio.
2019-PRESENT
INCATech
Lead UI/UX Designer &
Lead of the UCD Practice
I was stolen away from Rocket by INCATech, because I was presented with a unique opportunity to grow the UCD practice while contributing on an impactful project for the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency as the lead designer on the project. I love working with product teams because you get to see your designs come to life and solve problems for your users. I relish the opportunity to grow into my new roles.
